Aldo Leather Loafers
I had never been a loafer guy. That was until I set my eyes on the most beautiful, supple, luxurious loafers ever made. Meet the Bolton by Aldo. They must have constantly lotioned and massaged the cows from which these loafers were contrived. I had grown so accustomed to the firm leather of an oxford dress shoe that Aldo’s loafers were a a liberating revelation. I usually pair the Bolton with a linen trouser from Suit Supply and a solid-colored button down. I also love a similar style, Aldo’s Figaro loafer, which is a slightly more understated option.
One of the best things about Aldo is that they have smaller sizes in inventory, which is great for smaller guys like me. I usually wear a size 7 or 7.5 (US), and it is hard to find loafers that fit me well. But Aldo almost always offers sizes 7-8 in all styles, and they fit snugly and comfortably.
The only downside of these loafers is that they are not very durable. The leather is soft and supple, but it also scratches and wears easily. After a few months of wearing them, I noticed some creases and scuffs on the upper part of the shoes. The wooden heals also scratch easily.
To make these loafers last longer, I recommend using leather lotion or protector on them regularly. Aldo sells their own leather lotion, which smells like vanilla and makes the leather shine. You can also use any other leather care product that you prefer, but make sure to test it on a small area first. Leather lotion or protector will help prevent the leather from drying out, cracking, or fading.
I would put these loafers up against a Gucci pair any day. I’ll pass on paying an extra $1,000 for the metal “G” emblem every time.

Available for $100-199 in sizes 7 (US) and up
